These ribs are fall off the bone tender with the heady aroma of smoke and the sweet tang of balsamic vinegar used in Donald's glaze recipe. Caution: consider wearing a bib. Welcome, summer!

What fun to spend an evening with Nikki Lamberti of Sollevato Sangiovese fame! This juicy Sonoma County super Tuscan pairs well with Pizza Margherita, which we enjoyed together virtually while recording a podcast about olive oil. As the topic was olive oil, we of course we tried both Arbequina and Ascolano with the pizza, while we chatted. As soon as I have a broadcast date, I'll share the link.
If you love talking about wine you'll want to follow the Sip with Nikki podcast in any event. Liz says check it out!

There is an unmistakeable voluptuousness about tsimmes glistening on one's plate on a cold winter night, especially by candlelight. Make this succulent stew ahead of time to enjoy during the dark days of December.
I appreciate you and am grateful for your support. Sending good thoughts to you for a safe, warm, and relaxing rest of your Thanksgiving weekend. - Liz

He who plants a tree plants a hope.
Those words open a poem by American Lucy Larcom, and resonate deeply in today's world on many levels.
Whether looking to reconcile with a friend or family member, spread hope by celebrating an accomplishment, give comfort by shining a light on sorrow, or express gratitude and appreciation, the gift of an olive tree speaks volumes. Certainly, this season of harvest and holidays brings such feelings closer and make them more immediate.
Olive trees as part of your Thanksgiving table would be a handsome addition.
Order by November 15th to ensure you have trees for your table or sent as a gift in time for Thanksgiving.

Lucero Olive Oil, American Olive Farmer Since 1947
Lucero Olive Oil is located in Corning, known as The Olive City situated in Tehama County California, an agriculturally rich and diverse region of Northern California. The mediterranean climate here is ideally suited for growing olives with summer temperatures usually exceed 100ยบ Fahrenheit while winter temperatures hover between 40-50ยบ. Olive trees were introduced to Tehama County in the late 1800โs and early 1900โs for the table olive business, and many of those original plantings still thrive. Today, there are over 5500 productive acres of olives in Tehama County for olive oil as well as for table olives.
In the early years, starting with 25 acres in 1947, we grew and sold olives to the local cannery just as our neighbors did. The Lucero brand name and olive oil business was developed in 2005, our dedicated olive oil mill and plantings followed in 2009, and Tasting Room next to the mill opened in 2010. Today we mill olives from several hundred acres across six orchards producing 17 olive varieties; century-old traditionally spaced Sevillano trees as well as 21st century medium and high density plantings.
We sell directly from our farm and mill to consumers, however you can find us in select shops in America and overseas, too. Give us a call, we'd love to meet you! ( 877-330-2190 or 530-824-2190 9am to 5pm daily.)
Sharing the history of Tehama Countyโs Olive City with you is our passion, so come visit and enjoy the Lucero Olive Oil tasting or tour experience next time youโre in Northern California.
