My brother knocked up his girlfriend and then left. He literally moved to a different country to get away from his crazy ex. She was definitely on the HOT/CRAZY scale back then but being a single mom calmed her down and she raised two great kids. My family helped her out a lot and she is still.a part of it even after she got remarried when the twins were 12. I don't have kids. I don't want kids. I realistically don't like kids. However I was a part of my niece and nephew's lives since they were born. There is a picture of me holding them at the hospital. I helped raise the kids. I love them deeply. They are now grown and stated families of their own. Their children have been calling me grampa since forever. I buy them gifts. I take them out. I visit with them when I'm in town. My brother was in town for Thanksgiving last week and my niece and he family were at my mom's house. This is the first time he has ever met his kids children. He was pi**ed that they called me grampa. He says that I 'usurped' his place and that I'm a d__k for letting his grandchildren think I'm their grandfather. I honestly don't give a s__t. The can call me whatever they want. Just because he paid child support he thinks he was the best dad ever. I was the one who was there for his children all their lives. His oldest grandchild is six and this was their first meeting. I think he gave up his right to complain when he abandoned them.

Years ago I worked for a supervisor who just didn't like me. No reason why since I just came to work, did my job, and went home at the end of the day. But he decided that I was terrible at what I did and decided to performance manage me out of my job. Game on. He wrote me up for some vague b**llsh*t and asked me to sign it but since it didn't show any hard facts and data I asked for examples of this. Meeting ended with document unsigned since he didn't have an example for this. Tried it again with an example this time and I asked how often this would be reviewed for feedback, how the feedback would be given, and how the improvement or non improvement would be measured. He hadn't have a solid answer so again no document signed and the meeting ended. The next time me had HR in the meeting and had all his documentation and the answer to my questions from the prior meeting. He decided to be so smart on how feedback would be given daily via email. I signed the paper and he gave a smug smile. Next day comes along and shockingly there was zero feedback given. No email sent for the rest of the week. Get called into a meeting with boss and HR with a paper saying there was no improvement and I was being put on warning for termination and oops I'm sorry but can you show me the emails where feedback was given daily as outlined? There were none. Meeting ended. Next day email sent with feedback. I responded with facts and data. No response. Day after email sent with feedback. Again responded noting that I hadn't gotten any follow up for the day before and responded to that day's email with facts and data. 3rd day I again noted that I hadn't gotten any answers to the prior 2 days questions and added facts and data for this one. Then I cc'ed the HR person and sent it back. Apparently after much discussion boss decided that it was too hard to performance manage someone out of a job and my work was suddenly just fine after all.

Last year I bought a house in early Feb. Its been great after living in an apartment for almost 2 years. Anyways I started dating a girl in december of last year. So we have been dating for almost 8 months and she wants to move in with me. Im cool with it, until she says she wants to put her name on the house. I tell her no, the house is mine, the mortage is in my name, and I'd like to keep it in only my name to keep things simple. She immediately starts saying that I'm going to leave her and thats why I wont do it(?). She says if I don't put her name on the house then we are going to break up. AITA? edit: can some women chime in and tell me what they think? maybe this is some weird "woman logic" that I dont understand as a man, maybe she just sees this as the next reasonable step in our relationship edit 2: she would be moving in for free i pay all the bills
