On the evening of February 15th, 2001, 12-year-old Steven Earl Kraft Jr. left his home in Benton Harbor, Michigan to take his two dogs for a walk. It was a cold February night, but Steven was just a block from home between 7 and 8 p.m. His dogs eventually came back, but Steven never did. What followed was one of the largest searches in the area’s history. Hundreds of volunteers, law enforcement, and even the FBI combed the neighborhood, drained ponds, and scoured wooded areas. Neighbors reported seeing him, but no one could piece together exactly what happened in those crucial minutes.
Steven was described as fun, caring, and full of life. His disappearance shocked the small community and devastated his family, who still hold onto hope more than two decades later. Despite years of investigation and countless leads, the case remains unsolved.
Today, Steven would be in his 30s. Somewhere, someone knows the truth. If you have any information, even the smallest detail, contact law enforcement. For Steven’s family, justice and answers are long overdue. This isn’t just a cold case—it’s a call for help, because Steven’s story deserves an ending.
