What is an Equalizing Charge and Why Does It Matter? 🔋

An equalizing charge is a controlled overcharge that helps rebalance the cells in flooded lead-acid batteries. It’s a crucial maintenance step that:
✅ Breaks up sulfation that builds over time
✅ Ensures cell voltages stay balanced
✅ Restores lost capacity and extends lifespan

Perform equalizing charges only as recommended and always in a well-ventilated area. A little extra attention goes a long way in maximizing performance. Learn more: https://www.usbattery.com/battery-watering-technologies/

Is your battery running hotter than usual after a charge? That heat could be caused by high temperatures in the environment, leaving the battery on the charger too long, or internal issues like cell damage or loose terminals.

If the battery temperature hits 120˚F (50˚C), it’s time to pause charging and give it time to cool down to 90˚F (32˚C). Once it’s stable, you can inspect the battery’s specific gravity and voltage, or even run a load test to ensure all cells are healthy.

Remember, heat is often your battery’s way of signaling trouble, staying ahead of it can save your battery from permanent damage.
