Understanding Equalization: The "Silent Saver" of Deep-Cycle Batteries. 🛠️

Over time, the individual cells in a flooded battery can drift apart in voltage, and sulfate crystals can begin to harden on the plates. Equalization is the process of intentionally overcharging the battery at a low current to dissolve that sulfation and bring all cells back into balance.

Proper watering is the key to getting the most "Total Energy Delivered" over the life of your U.S. Battery. 🛠️

If you are running a golf fleet, an RV, or a solar bank, following these simple rules will save you money and prevent premature battery failure:

✔️ Timing is Everything: Always charge your batteries before adding water. The electrolyte level rises during the charging process, and adding water beforehand can cause an overflow.
✔️ Quality Matters: Never use tap water. The minerals and impurities will significantly shorten your battery's lifespan.
✔️ Level Check: Fill to just below the vent well, roughly 1/8 to 1/4 inch below the bottom of the fill tube, to allow for expansion.
