🚨 : Attorney Doug Allison's Vendetta Fuels Council's $400,000 Witch Hunt On The Mayor, Tomorrow's Memo Could Be Criminal Abuse to Smear Paulette
Corpus Christi, buckle up! The Homewood Suites hoax isn't dying yet, it's devoloping into a full-blown taxpayer circus, all courtesy of Attorney Doug Allison's grudge fueled depositions and a slimy "3-signature memo" slithering onto tomorrow's City Council agenda. The Crónica said it before. Mayor Paulette Guajardo's is innocent. She was blindsided by her own staff like city manager Peter Zanoni, all while attorney Doug Allison, the disgraced ex-Port lawyer turned lawsuit shark, pulls strings for rival hotel developer Ajit David.
The 3 signatire memo agenda item was signed by three council members that reads, "discussion and possible action on a separate outside attorney for the internal investigation on the Homewood Suites fraud allegations," letting council pick the next billable-hour lawyer to drop another $400,000 on a probe that's all been a joke from the very beginning. City Attorney Miles Risley has already declared no fraud and no "altered federal document", just a vetted screenshot of a map for a presentation. Why does this continue to be a sequel? Abuse of power? Try criminal charges such, Official Oppression, Misuse of Official Information, even Conspiracy. All to smear Paulette before the Port of Corpus Christi Commissioner vote. Fishy doesn't cover it. It's literally a crab-in-the-bucket boil.
Let's rewind real quick. Remember the so called "forged federal bombshell"? It was a harmless PowerPoint screenshot tweaked by a developer to spotlight the 2022 floodplain maps that pre-dated the hotel construction. There is not a felony in sight. Mayor Guajardo's said on record "I was never told the document was not legal," and "No one has said that any document was fraud." City Attorney Miles Risley's September 22nd email clearly states this was a joke! The city council members at that time got an April executive session heads-up, but city manager Peter Zanoni's "warnings" were wishy-washy on deposition. Zanoni stated "I'm not a hundred percent certain" on clarifying alterations". Paulette trusted her team, the same clowns who have not got us any water that's critical for our city. City auditor George Holland's August 21st "reasonable basis" of fraud? Hasn't even been brought up since city attorney Miles Risley's email. Paulette has been working to bring the very first downtown hotel in more than 20 years.
That bogus removal of Paullette Guajardo as mayor petition is still a joke. It was filed by grudge holders riding Ajit David's lawsuit against the city. The City Council probed the removal on September 9th in a 4-1 vote, with Paulette abstaining like a professional she is, but tomorrow's 3 signatures memo? It's a repeat smear to bleed the city budgets and bury her Port of Corpus Christi appointment.
Let's spotlight attorney Doug Allison, Ajit David's attorney, whose deposition harassment like the one when city manager Peter Zanoni's was asked "Do you think you made it clear?" It was published on a Tik-Tok clip twisting mayor Paulette into a villain. But who's this guy? A "disgraced former Port lawyer" with a decades-long rap sheet of lawsuits, stalling city growth for billable cash dollars. He is representing Ajit David, whose RGB Hospitality company owns hotels drooling to demolish the new 126-room Hilton Homewood Suites on Chapparal Street. Doug Allison's playbook is pure poison with him releasing "exclusive" deposition leaks in his office, asking "I Gotcha" questions, and turning a routine $2 million incentive into scandal material. Ajit David has cried foul with crocodile tears, but has fueled Doug Allison's attorney privilege to placing items on city agenda all to protect the hotel cartel pie. A countersuit from Homewood Suites developers call it "meritless and slanderous." The more Doug says "fraud", the more wasted probe dollars have to be spent. Corpus Christi, we deserve developers building, not leeches litigating.
The 3-signature memo smells like Doug's puppets on the council and they're demanding taxpayers to fund a "separate outside attorney" to chase ghosts before Halloween. The item agenda on tomorrow meeting exactly states "Discussion and possible action... city council will decide what outside attorney to enter into agreement with." Why? When the city attorney Miles Risley says no fraud, just a screenshot that city staff such as the city manager and staff recommended and cleared to council.
That dog don't hunt. Bleeding the city budgets for lawyer billable hours amid 12% total water resevoirs in Lake Corpus Christi and Choke Canyon. Look out for the legal red flags at City Hall such as Abuse of Official Capacity, Official Oppression, Misuse of Official Information, even Conspiracy/Organized Misconduct. City manager Peter Zanoni enabled it with his David Ajit text message stating "I got screwed" all while Doug Allison orchestrates the joke from the office. Tomorrow's ceremonial meeting starts at 11 AM in Council Chambers.
Crónica sources say Doug Allison's and Peter Zanoni's farce will backfire with emails that will end this fairy tale. Meanwhile, it's time to clean house after witnessing this witch hunt on the mayor that has been already vetted by law enforcement and the city attorney office. Happy early Halloween!
