The school year begins Monday August 11, 2025 for CCISD, August 12, 2025 for West Oso ISD and August 13, 2025 for Flour Bluff and Calallen ISD.

Here are some tips to remind parents, students and everyday drivers to make sure this school year is a safe one.

*Slow down, pay attention, refrain from distracted driving and exercise patience.
*School zones are active: All school zone speed limits are, by law, 15 miles per hour less than the posted speed limit. They will be enforced.
*Be aware of those walking to and from school and/or getting on and off school buses. You are required to stop for school buses and crosswalks – they are a no passing zone.
*Our traffic safety officers will be out in force as they have been for the schools already in session. Our goal is to keep our children safe!

We hope everyone had a great summer and wish all of our students a productive and memorable 2025-2026 school year!

UPDATE: Through a coordinated investigation, Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, and Officers with the Gang Unit were able to positively identify the offender and secured a Directive to Apprehend.

Based on intel gathered and shared by Gang Unit Officers and Detectives, the juvenile offender was located and arrested in Victoria, Texas on August 4, 2025, by the Victoria Police Department Highway Interdiction Team (HIT).

The Corpus Christi Police Department Traffic Division needs your assistance in identifying the driver and vehicle involved in this hit and run accident.
This incident occurred on April 18, 2025, at 10:46 pm in the 5200 block of Gollihar Rd. The vehicle struck a female pedestrian and fled the scene. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

The Corpus Christi Police Department’s Traffic Division is continuing the investigation into the motorcycle fatality that took place at the 100 block of SH 358 west bound at 2:32 am on Monday June 9, 2025.

Investigators are asking for anyone that may have witnessed the crash to please call the traffic division at 361-886-2596.

Investigators believe a white vehicle may possible have been involved and they are attempting to speak with the driver of the vehicle.

TIO HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AND ARRESTED.

On April 30, 2025, at about 12:30 pm, CCPD officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Leopard St.

When officers arrived, they were told that a male was attempting to pay with a check inside the store, but the check was not going through. The caller stated they also recognized the male from a recent Crime Stoppers post.

Officers were able to locate the male down the street. Officers contacted and arrested 61-year-old Roger Aguilar.

Aguilar was transported to the city detention center for booking, where he was charged with forgery of a financial instrument, fraudulent use/poss of identifying information, and an outstanding municipal court warrant.
