Good morning on this fine Central New Mexico day. The boys and one girl from the VA Creative Writing Group went to one of Albuquerque's best-known small cafes ... Mary & Tito's on 4th Street, NW. A fine, established restaurant with excellent food, great service, and the wonderful interior ambiance of a true Mom & Pop business. We loved it and know you will too. Gracious, good morning on this fine New Mexico Wednesday. We went to the town of Edgewood to see what all the fuss was about with a restaurant we had never heard of. The All Roads Cafe is just a few minutes north of I-40 and is worth the drive. Our crew of veterans had just finished a public reading in Tijeras and ventured a few more miles east for a celebratory lunch. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, the efficient service, and the ambiance of a small business doing their thing well. Just click on the following YouTube link and see why we think you, too, will enjoy getting out of town and eating in someplace you probably would not have known was worth the drive. https://youtu.be/78NS1zHKXQ8?si=tCPZiZP6tGIXEisO

Hold on ... another road trip report? Yup, three members of the VA Creative Writing Group and three other authors traveled to Roswell, New Mexico, for an outreach program to read and discuss their writing at Eastern New Mexico University's Roswell campus. We spent the night and ate at what we think is the best overall restaurant in the city. No aliens were sighted, and we all ate well. Excellent beef served in a variety of ways (two outliers had salad). Excellent and friendly service. Nice interior dominated by the best salad bar in these there parts. Go ahead and click on the following YouTube link and see what we found delightful. And thanks again for the veterans' discount. Highly recommended. https://youtu.be/5XJuu3rfnbk?si=OUT0qQsS5G4PTiL-

Here we area agin, at one of our absolutely favorite eating establishments in all of New Mexico. Ana's Kitchen. Great food and impeccable service from Ana herself. You want to go there if only to meet Ana - she is delightful and living the American dream. We had a variety of superb food, but some of us go there only for the machaca - not found in many places in our city. Others prefer the chilaquiles, and Chuck raved about the pork chops. Click on the following YouTube video link and see what we ate and meet Ana herself. Most highly recommended. https://youtu.be/zLQRkhQ4lGU?si=65ojebzmKhmcNxF9

On the road again ... this time southeast from Albuquerque to Roswell with a lunch stop at Vaughn. There is only one great stop along the way - Penny's Diner. We had a great experience where Jim ate the best meatloaf he'd ever had anywhere. Dinner that evening at the Pasta Cafe in Roswell. Another superb dining experience. Just click the following YouTube link to see how you, too, can enjoy your road trip to Roswell. https://youtu.be/0TYnTV5ZeL4?si=WKey9yNSBpDOGJhG

One nice thing about an indoor market with food is the variety of offerings. We have been to the Sawmill Market before, but this time we tried two different establishments: Kulantro - Vietnamese street food and Tulipani Pasta. Excellent offerings at reasonable prices in an exciting atmosphere and ample indoor and outdoor seating. Want to see and hear about why we like the Sawmill Market so much? Just click on the following YouTube video link and enjoy watching us enjoy ourselves. https://youtu.be/ujtXGQPp5n0?si=bRfXLY5wptJMxYrr
