Corry wrestlers seeded 2nd

The Corry wrestling team is seeded second and draws an opening bye in the District 10 Class 2A Team Tournament. Corry will face the winner between Hickory (7th) and Commodore Perry (10th) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Sharon. Unbeaten Cathedral Prep is No. 1, Reynolds is at No. 3 and General McLane, No. 4.
The top two finishers advance to states.

Corry boys top Titusville
Led by Kamdyn Moon, Corry's boys basketball team rolled past Titusville 63-34 on Friday, improving to 10-4 on the season.
Moon nailed five 3-point baskets and had 25 points. Nick Scouten contributed 15.
Corry won the JV game 55-38. Jack Vanchieri's 15 points led the scoring.
The Union City boys had two nice wins. The Bears stunned Erie Prep Academy 47-46 Friday as Elijah Troyer hit for 15 points, and Trevin Capela landed 13.
On Saturday, UC downed Cambridge Springs 68-60 as Trent Parkhurst hit a career-high 27 points, and Cooper Ox contributed 16.

LeBoeuf boys stop Corry
WATERFORD — Corry's boys basketball team tried to slow things down at Fort LeBoeuf on Friday but wound up falling 48-42 to the Bison.
Nick Scouten scored 17 points, Landon Deane had 14, and Kason Chamberlin contributed three assists in his return from injury.
Mason Friedman dominated the boards for FLB and had 20 points, making 10 of 11 free throws.
LeBoeuf prevailed 40-39 in the JV game. Deion Canady had 10 points for Corry.
Also Friday, Warren edged Franklin 47-45. Corry hosts Frankin on Tuesday.
In girls play, Clymer lost at Silver Creek 34-20.
Corry was set to host Ashtabula Edgewood on Saturday.

Beaver boys fall to Mercyhurst Prep
ERIE — After leading 8-0 to start the contest, the Corry boys basketball team wound up falling 78-67 at Mercyhurst Prep on Friday.
The Beavers dropped to 7-3, having lost three of the last four games.
Nick Scouten had a personal high 21 points, hitting five 3-pointers. Kamdyn Moon and Keaton Frisina both hit 15 points.
For Mercyhurst, now 4-4, Tanner Ashton made nine of 11 free throws and finished with 30 points and eight assists.
Corry lost the JV game 58-48, slipping to 8-2. Jack Vanchieri tallied 17 points, and Scouten had 10.
Also Friday, Union City lost 53-51 to Cochranton.
Clymer defeated Pine Valley 53-32, behind 15 points from Carson White.
In girls play, Clymer edged Chautauqua Lake 35-33. Ava Nyweide contributed 12 points. The JVs won 28-24 as Addi Wigers netted 14 points.
