Another "day off" from fence building to rest the old wrist led to a feed and tire run. Last week, we got new tires for the truck. Since we dont drive much, our tread was still good, but our tires aged out. Yep, your tires have a life span that doesn't just include wear... but the actual age of the tires (knowledge i gained from 20 years in the automotive industry). We opted for a snow rated street tire that we can keep on year round while still giving us better traction in snow, ice, and mud. Peace of mind.

Then, our experience of hauling 3600 pounds of hay one our 9 year old trailer made us realize THOSE tires were old, too. So, we got a really nice upgraded pair of tires for the trailer. We also kept one old tire and got a rim and mount ordered so we can finally have a spare for the trailer, too.

While we waited for the trailer tires to get replaced, we stocked up on feed for the animals.

It's all huge expense, but what else would we spend our retirement money on? Trips to Europe?? We're not convinced that would give us more joy than rescuing these critters does.

Maybe tomorrow we'll get that fence done...

So, about that fencing project...

The good news is we started working on it again. I even bought that nifty red fence stretcher, which, let me tell you, is worth its weight in gold.

The bad news is I hurt my wrist. It's not anything to be alarmed with, but it is sore enough that fencing will have to be postponed yet again.

After years of being an Azure Standard customer, I finally became an affiliate!

Yes, I've been promoting Azure products for a long time. Especially at my in-person sourdough classes and on my baking blog posts. But Azure offers so much more than flour...you could stock your whole house with the wide variety of products they offer. And, they do all of the research forcyoyvwhen it comes to finding non-GMO, non-toxic, high-quality items.

I think you might be surprised to find that many items are less expensive than your grocery store prices, AND you get a higher-end product from Azure.

I'm happy to answer questions.

I'm addicted to grocery delivery.

I live 15 miles from town. That's not super far, but it does mean a trip to Walmart (or City Market) is going to take an hour minimum (winding county roads and slower speed limits plus shopping time, which alone can be an additional hour). So, I've been using grocery delivery.

I was up super early this morning and decided to make some homemade brownie mix in jars. Since I'm making extra, I ran out of chocolate chips. A few minutes on my Walmart app, and I had a small order placed. And, viola, here they are...right on my doorstep (along with dog and cat treats cuz you can't run out of those).

While my grocery order was shopped for, rang up, bagged, and delivered, i was able to take a shower, feed all of the animals, prep by brownie mixes (which now just need the chips on top), goof off, and make a second homemade latte.

Yes, it's worth it.

This isn't necessarily an for Walmart+ but more like a way to spread the word about taking advantage of these kinds of things that don't cost much but buy back a ton of time.
