Kayla Ramirez and Masha Mogylevsky were inaugurated as the new president and vice president of the Associated Students of Oregon State University for the 2025-2026 academic year June 1.

Due to the current pause on ASOSU functions and the suspension of the ASOSU constitution, the start of their positions remains unclear. The shutdown was initially planned to end on May 2, but was extended indefinitely on that date instead.

The Oregon State Beavers will host a well-deserved homestay for regionals, which begins Friday, May 30, at 6 p.m. against Saint Mary’s College of California.

Now, it’s unknown what the pitching rotation will be this weekend. But what is known is the teams that are in town. The Beavers have graciously welcomed a weekend visit for Saint Mary’s, Texas Christian University, and the University of Southern California.

Oregon State University student government officials have given more insight into why the shutdown was extended again.

University officials and the president of the Associated Students of Oregon State University, Audrey Schlotter, decided to extend the temporary shutdown May 2, with no clear end in sight due to continued concerns surrounding workplace culture, governance and organizational dysfunction.

The shutdown began on Feb. 28, under the idea that it would help to correct alleged harassment and a cited toxic work environment.
