We had a blast opening for Last Train to Juarez last night in Chanute, Kansas!

Outlaw country at its finest, but what will stick with me forever is their support of The Never Flats and their music. Genuinely good folks with hearts of gold.

Give them a follow on Facebook to keep up with their tour through the Midwest and stay tuned - they are nominated for 7 awards at the Grand Ole Opry in September.

Although we met on the road, The Never Flats and Last Train to Juarez are both Phoenix based bands so it sounds like we are going to be able to do this again for our Arizona friends and family!

The Never Flats are on the road for and tonight we will be at the Macon County Town and Country Fair to help celebrate 250 years of America!

We will start off with a set at 6:30 pm. We welcome any bluegrass players (or anyone who wants to learn some bluegrass) to bring instruments for a jam session afterwards. Bring an instrument and a chair and join us!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in getting here! It's a long ways from Arizona!

Brody, Ryker, and Cohen are taking the music home (Kansas and Missouri) to play for family they haven't seen nearly enough.
Great-grandma Marguerite is 95 years old. There are cousins they've never even met.

We've already got a couple of gigs booked and we're looking for porches to play on and local musicians to jam with.

We're calling it the Grandma Tour 2026.

This page started during a long fight with chronic Lyme disease.
What came out of that decade / season was music.

Music kept me steady when my body wasn’t. It kept my boys close. It gave us a way to move forward when talking ran out.

This page is now The Never Flats, a family band built from that journey.

The music is the through-line.

I’m sharing I’ll Fly Away, recorded in Cottonwood, as a marker of the transition.

Same roots. Different expression. Forward.
