BOOK REVIEW:
First, here's the premise of the book.
A family on a remote island. A mysterious woman washed ashore. A storm gathering force.
Dominic Salt and his three children are caretakers of Shearwater, a tiny weather-lashed island that is home to the worldβs largest seed bank. As Shearwater risks being lost to rising sea levels, the islandβs researchers have fled, and only the Salts remain.
Until, during the worst storm in living memory, a stranger washes ashore. The family nurse the woman, Rowan, back to strength, but it seems she isnβt telling the whole truth about why sheβs there. And when Rowan stumbles upon sabotaged radios and a recently dug grave, she realizes that sheβs not the only one on the island with a secret.
A novel of breathtaking twists, dizzying beauty and ferocious love, Wild Dark Shore is about the impossible choices we make to protect the people we love.
Second, here's what I think of the book:
It is actually really, REALLY good! It does take some getting used to the different language--the author is Australian and so are the characters, so you have to get used to some of their words. It doesn't detract from the story at all. For me, it was very much a 'hmm..I wonder why everyone is being suspicious' and I mean EVERYONE! It's a book that made me think as I was reading it--mainly that I never wanted to stop reading it because I wanted to find out exactly what happened π
--but it's also a book that was a quick read. Once it sucks you in, you're in. It's SO GOOD!!!! I know I say that about a lot of books but that's because I think they're good books and that everyone should read them π

So..if you're looking to try something new, try this book! 10/10 recommend.
