To Our Whidbey Tides & Taps Community,
It is with both gratitude and heavy hearts that we share some difficult news — Whidbey Tides & Taps will be closing at the end of November. This decision has not come easily. Due to family circumstances, we need to step away and focus on what matters most — our loved ones. While this chapter is coming to a close, our hearts are overflowing with appreciation for everyone who has been part of our story.
From the day we opened, our hope was to create a space, like Cheers, “Where Everybody Knows Your Name”. A place where friends could gather, neighbors could connect, and memories could be made over a cold beverage. Thanks to you, our amazing staff, customers, and the community, that dream became a reality.
To our staff: You’ve been with us through every challenge and triumph. Your dedication, kindness, and hard work have made this place what it is, and we will forever be grateful for the laughter, teamwork, and spirit you brought to the business every day.
To our customers and the community: thank you for showing up — for your support, your encouragement, and for making Tides & Taps a true gathering place. We will miss the familiar faces, the spontaneous conversations, and the friendships that have filled these walls with warmth and life.
Though we’ll miss seeing you here, we leave with deep gratitude and lasting memories — and we hope you’ll continue to support the taproom as it begins its next chapter.
We are very happy to be able to announce that we will be passing the baton to Jen Schmitz, who has worked beside us for a long time, serving you all behind the bar and throughout the community. Stay tuned for more announcements from her, as she and her partner Kristo Allred work to refresh and reimagine the taproom with their creative ideas before opening to serve you all again sometime soon. We know many of you love these two and we’re so excited that the taproom will continue on with them.
Thank you, Whidbey Island, for being part of this incredible journey with us.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Mitch & Tami Aparicio
