History Lesson:

Now that all the votes have been counted, this election marks the closest House of Representatives results since the 1930s. For the presidency, it is also one of the closest popular vote margins in modern history, with only the Bush/Gore election being closer. Voter turnout was 3% lower compared to the last election.

When I was involved in politics, I learned some important lessons. One big lesson is not to take things too personally. It's also important not to hold onto hard feelings or use fear to lead or win votes. You can’t lead if you continue to hold grudges or those feelings. I really believe that most people who run for office do it because they want to make things better for everyone, whether it's in our city hall or the chambers of Sacramento or Washington, D.C.

Today, our political climate is deeply divided, a reflection of how personal feelings can overshadow larger goals. This division sometimes places friends on opposing sides of a debate. However, the cornerstone of our society is the democratic process, where the power of choice rests firmly in the hands of the voters. I am confident in the intelligence of our electorate to distinguish between truth and falsehood, and to recognize the genuine intentions of those seeking to represent them. Regardless of the election's outcome, it is imperative that elected leaders continue to collaborate and advance the welfare of our community/state/country. 🇺🇸
