Four in 10 healthcare workers say they are regularly concerned for their well-being, according to survey by Centegix. A solid majority (61%) say their organizations aren’t demonstrating a high priority for workers’ well-being with their security efforts.

Many say concerns about violence are affecting their ability to deliver care, and that they don’t see their organizations viewing their safety as a high priority.

In a conversation at the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition, he talked with health systems about big problems they are facing: higher costs, staff shortages, tight margins and an uncertain regulatory environment. And he says those challenges require more than new AI tools.

Health systems will need to find ways to be resilient in the face of mounting challenges, says Vince Vickers of KPMG. And he says AI will help, but it’s not a panacea.

An avid cyclist, David Banks, president and CEO of AdventHealth, talked about dealing with headwinds at the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition Monday. He challenged healthcare leaders to recognize the headwinds and find a way to get into position to thrive.
"Hoping the headwind goes away, likely moves to complete disruption," he said.

He says hoping conditions improve isn’t a viable strategy. He also says it’s time to recognize that the government and employers expect more from health systems.
