It was a joy getting to finally meet longtime RCU favorite, Mike Noordzy, and Mothguts, one of his many bands, and WOW. They absolutely pulverized Asbury Park last night. Grindcore/avant-garde jazz fusion that takes no prisoners? Yes please!

The World Famous Wonder Bar held a righteous stacked bill of local noisy, jazz-leaning experimental heaviness last night with Monkeys from Mars, Thieves in Paris, Joy On Fire and Mothguts. It was a scintillating evening of volume and adrenaline-fueled jams that I hope will be repeated here someday. Hereā€™s Joy on Fire ripping it up next to Tillieā€™s iconic grin.
