Montgomery County has moved to an Advisory Travel Level due to current weather and road conditions.

🚗 What this means:
• Travel may be hazardous in some areas
• Only essential travel is recommended
• Use caution if you must be out on the roads

Our Highway Department crews are actively monitoring and treating roadways. Conditions can change quickly, especially on secondary and rural roads.

Please slow down, give plow crews space, and stay tuned for updates. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as needed.

📣Final call snow totals!
No significant changes to our original snow forecast as things seem to be in track today. Snow will continue to fill in through the morning with the heaviest snow trending between 11:00am and 4:00pm ET today. Snow will begin to move out of the state this evening and should be completely out by midnight outside of a few lake effect snow showers.

Winds will pick up once again tonight behind this clipper system as an arctic cold front moves through. Gusts to 20-25mph expected causing blowing and drifting snoe tonight. Snow that falls will be light and fluffy which is easily blown around.

Snow will quickly overspread the region through midday today, intensifying to moderate/heavy snow this afternoon for central and northern counties. Widespread moderate snowfall may include significant amounts in heavier bands. Gusts to 20 mph will cause the fluffy snow to blow and drift. Bitter cold to follow tonight into Monday.

COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT SATURDAY NIGHT TO 1 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 19 below zero expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, south central, southeast, southwest, and west central Indiana.

* WHEN...From midnight Saturday Night to 1 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 19 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is
exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.

IMPORTANT: CHANGE OF LOCATION!!

The Crawfordsville / Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce announces an urgent CHANGE OF LOCATION for the upcoming State Legislative Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13. The event will now take place at CRAWFORDSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL in the Large Group Instructional Room (LGI) at 705 Wallace Avenue in Crawfordsville.

The panel consists of State Senators Brian Buchanan (District 7) and Spencer Deery (District 23) along with State Representatives, Jeff Thompson (District 28), Matt Commons (District 13), Mark Genda (District 41), and Beau Baird (District 44).

The State Legislative Breakfast is sponsored by Lakeside Book Company and will include breakfast catered by Smitty D’s Hot Dog Stand. The event is open to the public for a fee, regardless of age. The cost to attend the event is $10 for Crawfordsville / Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce members and $15 for non-members.
