I was asked to do some electronic repairs on a Fender jazz bass client had purchased about 10 years ago from a music store out of state. Clearly when compared to the original Jazz bass, the clients bass is a copy. Client did not realize he had a fake Fender. Things to look for: logo, head stock, tuners, bridge, EMG clone puckups, size of the body, four screws versus six screws on the neck plate, strings through body, serial number comes back nonexistant. If you’re unsure of what you have or what is being offered to you, please do your research. Client paid Fender prices for this copy.
