The Midwest is often overlooked as a destination but this was easily one of the prettiest drives we have taken! Along the coast of Lake Superior, charming small towns, and two underrated National Park Sites. ✨

Perfect 5-Day Itinerary:
📍Day 1: Apostle Islands & Bayfield, Wisconsin - 
Explore the National Lakeshore, walk the shoreline, take a boat tour, and wander Bayfield’s waterfront, shops, and marina.

📍Day 2: Bayfield to Duluth, Minnesota - 
Drive the South Shore of Lake Superior to Minnesota. In Duluth, explore Canal Park, watch ships pass through the Aerial Lift Bridge, and enjoying the lakefront.

📍Day 3: Duluth to Split Rock Lighthouse
Follow scenic Highway 61 with stops at Gooseberry Falls and Iona’s Beach. End the day at Split Rock Lighthouse for one of the most iconic views on the Great Lakes.

📍Day 4: North Shore to Voyageurs
Catch sunrise at Split Rock, then visit Palisade Head for breathtaking cliff-top views over Lake Superior. Explore sea caves in Silver Bay. Then  head inland toward Voyageurs NP.

📍Day 5: Voyageurs National Park
Explore the park by boat or kayak, search for wildlife, hike a scenic trail, and enjoy incredible stargazing in one of the least light-polluted areas in the Midwest.

Tips for visiting:
✨Highway 61 is the star of this trip, don’t rush it
✨Listen for the “singing stones” at Iona’s Beach
✨Bring bug spray for Voyageurs, especially in summer
✨Download offline maps before leaving the North Shore - signal is spotty 

🌊 Total distance: ~500 miles
⏰ Best trip length: 5 days
✈️ Best airports: Minneapolis-St. Paul or Duluth

7 whole years married ❤️ and almost 2 years living together in a camper! There is no one I would rather (or could stand to) do this life with than you! So thankful for our love and our life together. Here’s to many more years adventuring together! 🥂😘

Our time in Moab was not all rainbows and sunshine, it actually had a lot of pain and suffering 😬

RV life never goes according to plan but sometimes issues are self induced… The tree was fine but our camper was not. We spent many hours trying to get our RV livable and drivable again.
