Coaching can be transformative, but it's not always the right time or the right option for everyone. Here are some things to think about...
☁ You think it's all about the "fluffy" stuff: If you think coaching is just "fluffy" talk without substantial results, you might be limiting where and how it can have impact. Defining goals and ROI for your coaching is crucial.
↔ You have a self-awareness gap: Without a basic level of self-awareness, you might struggle to benefit from coaching insights and feedback. Explore your strengths, blind spots and be honest with yourself what you really want to work on.
💸 You don't have the time/money: If you're unwilling to invest the necessary time and money, coaching might not yield the desired outcomes. Coaching can be about changing longstanding habits and this takes effort.
❌ You think it can replace poor management: Engaging a coach to deliver your feedback to your team can be a sign you need to develop this skill independently rather than relying on someone else. Coaching that works hand in glove with your management approach can have a greater impact.
