10/14: FEELING A LOT LIKE FALL.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 10/14: We are into the remnants of this latest southern surge with showers coming to an end through the morning. Skies will remain partly cloudy but we should get a break from the moisture.

Temperatures: Lows dropped to 39 for CB and 44 for Gunni. Highs will reach 64 for Gunni and 59 for CB. Lows tonight will drop back to and below freezing as skies clear.

Outlook: We are headed for another change in the pattern with this low in CA opening and lifting through to the northeast. This will keep us drier through Wednesday with a quick shot of moisture on the tail end taking us into Thursday. As this passes we will see clearer skies but also a cold northern flow pushing lows to the teens and daytime highs 10-15 degrees lower than where we started the week. This will mean white peaks into Thursday morning and possibly snow on the valley floors. We will stay dry and cool into the weekend with some very cold overnight lows worth preparing for as a more fall like pattern settles in.

10/12: AND NOW RAYMOND ON THE APPROACH.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 10/12: Regional radar shows more moisture continuing to stream across the area early but skies will clear after noon from the west to east with a beautiful afternoon on tap. Temperatures will be around seasonal norms but this gap between waves will be short lived with a fresh round of moisture settling in for Monday.

Temperatures: Lows were mild again at 38 for CB and 39 for Gunni. Highs will hold to 51 for CB and 57 for Gunni. Lows tonight will be colder back to freezing as this next front moves in.

Outlook: We will likely be waking up to snow on the higher peaks early Monday as this cold front drops in from the northwest. This meets moisture from the remnants of Raymond and we get a rinse and repeat of the pattern we saw into the weekend with the marked difference being the colder air to the north. This all moves through quickly but look for wetter conditions Monday into Tuesday morning and then dry gap that will allow temperatures to rebound a bit. The western flow will be hard to predict and a weak wave moves through Wednesday night that could mean another weak volley Thursday but we’ll have to see how it develops.

10/10: LOTS OF MOISTURE IN PLAY.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 10/10: The front end of this southern rotation has lifted over the area overnight as expected and we are seeing heavy moisture feeding western CO from the southwest and this is just the precursor to the remnants of Priscilla which will move in later this afternoon. Look for a small lull prior to this but stratiform slow moving rains will be the trend unless we see any break to sun and that will tee up a much more aggressive afternoon. It’s going to be wet so plan accordingly.

Temperatures: Lows were warm at 38 for CB and 46 for Gunni. Highs will hold to 53 for CB and 59 for Gunni. Lows tonight will look about the same.

Outlook: We will be sandwiched between this high over Texas and the low off the west coast through Saturday with remnants from Priscilla feeding in on the southwestern flow. The low to the west will open Saturday and start moving east which will flatten the flow and introduce drier but colder air into early Sunday. Depending on what’s left for moisture this could mean white peaks into Sunday morning. A gap will offer some sun but by Sunday afternoon anther southern surge builds and we will be wet again into Monday.

10/9: HERE COMES PRISCILLA.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For 10/9: Today is our day of transition with the drier flow out of the southwest turning wetter with a surge of subtropical moisture. Region radar and satellite imagery shows cloud cover and scattered storms headed our way with thundershowers likely into this afternoon that will continue into tonight with wet conditions turning wetter into Friday.

Temperatures: Lows were moderated by early cloud cover with CB holding to 28 and 30 for Gunni. Highs today will cool to 64 for CB and 70 for Gunni. Lows tonight will be in the 30s.

Outlook: We see a prefrontal surge early Friday with a lull possible through midday but the remnants of Priscilla start to move in early Friday afternoon and we are looking at the potential for an extended rain event through Saturday. The dynamics look favorable with a west southwest flow but a tip to a more southern approach could slow this down a bit. We will dry into Sunday but expect a foggy start with a cooler western flow through Monday but another shot of moisture could return Monday night.
