Come on out and enjoy the festivities, free hotdogs from Crewe Volunteer Fire Department, bouncy houses and kids activities! All proceeds are going to local Southside Virginia non-profits! Country music legend Alan Jackson was born on this day in 1958. He turns 67 today! 🤠 🎉

Because of Alan, generations of fans have and will continue to enjoy pure country songs such as "Drive," "Remember When," and "Livin' On Love."

A member of the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame, Alan is one of the most well-respected and well-awarded artists in the business. Now, we want to take an extra moment to celebrate him on his birthday today! 🧡

UPDATE: Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, is reportedly listed in critical condition after being shot at an event in Utah. Kirk was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University.

Porter Wayne Wagoner was born in West Plains, Missouri, on this day in 1927.

When people think of country music, Porter's name is often one of the first that comes to mind. He was known as "Mr. Grand Ole Opry" and was instantly recognizable in his flashy suits.

Porter was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2002. He lived to see the honor and passed away five years later on October 28, 2007.

Today, we honor Porter on what would have been his 98th birthday! ❤️ 🎵

On this day in 1964, country star Loretta Lynn and her husband, Doo, welcomed their twin daughters, Peggy and Patsy. Loretta named Patsy after her late friend Patsy Cline, who died the previous year.

Loretta didn't know she was expecting twins, so it was quite a surprise when she delivered not one, but two baby girls! Reflecting on the memory in 2022, she said, "...if I had it to do all over again, I’d tell Dr. Hasty that one more sounds about perfect to me. It turned out in this case that two really are better than one."

Peggy and Patsy followed in their mama's musical footsteps and formed a country music duo named The Lynns. They released one album together and earned two CMA Award nominations for Vocal Duo of the Year.

Hopefully Peggy and Patsy have a wonderful birthday today! 💕
