There were only three she knew her whole life a goat, a pig and a donkey. She learned their ways, stand around until you are fed by hand, wait for your water bucket to be cleaned and refilled. Just stand around, no purpose, no goals, just routine; the sun comes up, sun goes down. Until one day everything changed.
Those three she depended on for guidance, that were always there, one day left. She found herself alone, which placed her in a position of choosingโฆ do you stay in the same routine, sit and wait to be hand fedโฆ or go out on faith and see what else is out there. You see, this little calf, she is a fighter, she is set apart! She decided to listen to something deeper this time, there was no longer an outside influence fogging her vision, her eyes were now wide open for the first time. She took a leap of faith and escaped, not knowing what dangers could have been ahead or whether she would be fedโฆ shear faith took over, instincts as some may call it. She wondered alone for a while, I canโt help but think of what courage and growth formed within her during this time, the โwildโ that came back in her eyes. Thenโฆ. She was gently guided to a pasture full of huge bulls. See these bulls are three times her size, strong, courageous, unshakeable, not relying on someone but being self-sufficient in finding food and water. This is exactly what she needed! Although they seem larger than life, their mission is to grow, stand firm, stay strong, and be prepared for a fight, not to lay there and become weak, something to guide her into being more than she could ever imagine.
See we often find ourselves surrounded by those that we are most comfortable with, being complacent with living in a lifestyle of routine. If we take a step back and remove the veil from our eyes, we see this can lead to being lazy, heading towards a dead-in path of no growth, no desire to find your true placement, no desire to see what you are made of, no desire to just rely on God. Sometimes we need people or situations removed from our lives to force our eyes to be open, to find faith to move into the unknown. This can then lead to mentors that you could never have dreamed of, people who root for you, who push you to become a better version of yourself, who are in your corner to lift you up and help guide you. Take it from a small calf, go where God is calling you, you may find yourself in a large pasture full of bulls that are ready to help prepare you for the battle grounds.
4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5
