Dating is like a candy bar

Awe you think
This is going to be sweet
Maybe kinky
Nope
Not for me.

Candy bar on the shelf
Impulse buy
Like swiping right
On the dating site.

Moments of loneliness
Moments without thought
A splurge
Blink of the eye
Shall explode
Soon after you decide
To indulge
But yet can’t return.

Chocolate candy
Yummy in the moment
Mouth watering indulgence
Equals
Three days of pain
Swelling
Regret
Self hate.

Ask myself why
Caving in the moment
If only I had thought twice
Story of dating
Of my love life.

Swipe left
Swipe right
Swipe till you find
There is a pervert
On the other side.

Attempt conversation
With one word replies
What a bore

How can I know you
Without words
Just cause I have many
Don’t mean I don’t want yours

Then my mind comes calling
Saying stop
It’s one word
If they were interested
It would show
No more energy
Spilled into abyss
It’s to precious
Swipe left

Don’t swipe right
If cats he don’t like
Don’t swipe left
If he seems nice

Swipe and swipe
Until you find
Someone you can relate to
Someone you like.

Dating is like a candy bar
Be careful
What you splurge
Cause honey
You don’t want
To be doing
Damage control.
