This has nothing to do with Partyramma Event Planners, but as I have trolled through my page today, yesterday and what seems like the last month, the gosh awful Confederate Flag is at it again. This flag, one of 7 or 9 flags used by the Confederate States during the Civil War, seems to symbolize and teach intolerance and racism. HMMMM, well......., let's think about this one for a minute.
FIRST: A symbol stands for something, means something. OK, I have to admit, because mainstream media picked this one flag as the symbol of the Confederate United States, and used it in movies and TV, thats all it stands for. That there is no other meaning or symbolism behind it at all. NOT TRUE, but thats not what people say or think. OK.
SECOND: I am a human being with moderate intelligence, and I have not heard or been taught by a piece of material in my life. I have learned that the Stars and Stripes stands for America, which once in the history I was taught in school, was made up of nothing but REBELS. Our founding fathers rebelled against the monarchy of England. Today, being a rebel or using that work, rebel, having a schools nickname, Rebels, is a bad thing. WHY?
THIRD: I was raised by my grandparents, my grandfather was a racist. I am not, but I learned my tolerance and non-racist attitudes through his intolerances. Children learn of intolerence through their parents, grandparents and family. Children also learn of intolerence in the music they listen to, and what they see on TV and in their video games. Not through the use of a word, or by a flag.
Al Sharpton preaches intolerence and racism all the time. Any rapper that has made it big, preaches hatered, violence and racism in most of his songs. Any conservative radio show host that uses President Obama's name, without his title as President, teaches the young people listening that it is OK to disrespect the President of the United States. Each and every time a host or media person uses the term ObamaCare, instead of the bills real name, Affordable Care Act, is being disrespectful to the President of the United States.
FOURTH: How do we stop this BS. Thats not simple but it starts with one person deciding not to do so anymore. One person, learning that we are all human beings, we all have made mistakes and that we evolve each and every day, hopefully, into something better on the whole. One person to stand up and say "ENOUGH!", Let's stop the nonsense and get into something good and useful as a nation. more to come later, this is long enough for now.
