I stepped into the enchanted and Baroque world of it took my breath away momentarily. My brain scrambled to see how to capture the archaeological layers of interior architecture and the magnificent light that fell on the objects. One area melted into the other, and yet each was contained like a framed painting.

You can see my photos, alongside the sumptuous article in by Troy McMullen, and I don’t use the word sumptuous a lot.

“Eclectic is a gentle way of describing my aesthetic,” says Trapp, who spent his early life living in Europe with a father who was a professor of logistics in the Air Force. The family eventually settled in Ohio, where he studied landscape architecture before selling architectural items at antiques shows nationwide.
“Most people just call my style unusual, but the truth is I’m curious about so many things, and I simply traffic in things I find beautiful.”
Uncovering eclectic beauty is evident inside a home he spent years renovating. Though the exterior of the eyebrow colonial has hardly changed, the interiors underwent a renovation that included removing walls, doors, and staircases. The demolition transformed a once-dilapidated house into a 3,000-square-foot residence that Trapp says reflects his taste.”

Kickline into a century of magic! ✨ Happy 100th Anniversary to the amazing Rockettes!
Grateful for my memories of photographing the Rockettes starting with the most beautiful kind of performance: an outing for a Children’s Hospital. The immediate, pure joy they sparked in every child was truly moving.
I’ve had opportunities to shoot everything: the precision of rehearsal, the glamour of opening night, and the hustle and bustle of public events. My ultimate favorite? Shooting backstage.
Their skill, beauty, and grace are what you see on stage, but their kindness and respect—even in the high-pressure environment (like that chaotic interior elevator mid-show!)—is the true testament to their character. That is their greatest achievement.

My family history in photography was cemented with my dear aunt Kate born on this day 118 years ago. Happy birthday to Kate the great! Our great aunt would have celebrated her 118th birthday... born on Halloween... she was the real “good witch” she lived into her 100th year with energy, integrity, and generosity, the funniest German accent and an unforgettable laugh. She was able to escape the Holocaust and immigrated to the US because of the US asylum program under a quota. Arriving in the US with cameras and furniture, she started a photo company in Buffalo with her husband Ernest. Biel’s Microfilm which is now a state of the art digital conversion and electronic storage company. Her love of life, people, photography (and dogs Rex and Blondie) will forever be an inspiration to me.

I am still energized from an incredible, wild and delicious content shoot at Argyll House, where we created stunning visuals and celebrated the connection of family and friends. A huge thank you to Namrata and her family, who were the culinary stars, cooking up a vibrant Indian feast, including a curry in the black STAUB and a rich chicken biryani in the grenadine and lentils in the beautiful mustard color with the rooster lid STAUB. This project was a true collaboration, with my client and her family and friends producing, cooking, modeling, and styling every beautiful moment. The STAUB Dutch ovens weren’t just cookware; they were the heroes, with their vibrant colors elevating every dish from the prep shots to the magical golden hour finale despite the torrential rains that moved our dinner party inside. We captured authentic moments of laughter, sharing, and the pure joy of a meal shared together, the joy was palpable and the food was magnificent!
