NEARD ALERT! 🤓
I finally finished setting up my custom Protogear bag for my Zaxcom Nova 2 just the way I like it and I thought I would share. Big thanks to Simon Audio Workbench for working with me on turning the feather rig upside down. When I started using the Nova here in AZ I learned quickly how hot it got. With the bag being so light it was naturally very thin and, needless to say, made my stomach sweat A LOT when I was wearing it in the harness 🤣🤣🤮. So, I thought about switching around the feather rig to bring the nova away from my body and put two batteries there. I love it. They are hot swappable and now I can run for longer periods of time. It also helped to bring the encoders further away which I feel is a better position for getting my fat hands in there to mix haha. Granted, I can do all of this because I use a slightly different setup than most users.
I am using Lectrosonics, Inc. DCHT camera hop and a SMWB in 941 for my IFB TX. I like using these as their tx range can be setup beyond the Zaxcom band THAT I am using (.5). Glenn was kind enough to make me a custom FPD2 filter for my DCHT so that I am filtered out even below the usable zaxcom range. I’m using the DCHT from 470-505. That with the SMWB in 941 and my TX is nicely out of the way of my RX. At least for now. Now that we’re moving to NYC next week, we’ll see where everything lands, but I can always take the FPD2 off the DCHT and use it where I need to.
I think that’s about it haha. Let me know if you have any questions!
