7/16/25: The Nueces River in Crystal City (north of Carrizo Springs) has risen to nearly 12 ft. this Wednesday evening. If the water is moving at a similar pace as the Frio, it could be to Lake Corpus Christi by the early to middle part of next week. We will see how much of an impact this has on the levels there at that time.

6PM UPDATE:
Uvalde Fire Department and other local first responders are conducting a rescue operation following a vehicle that was swept off Ranch Road 187 South at the Frio River crossing.

Authorities were notified that someone was swept off the roadway while in the vehicle.

First responders initiated a search and rescue operation, and located the submerged vehicle on its rooftop in the river. At this time, no occupants have been found in or around the vehicle.

The vehicle has been confirmed stolen.

The search efforts are ongoing.
