Live a simple life!
Yesterday, I had the privilege to deliver 2 saddles to a sweet lady and her daughter in Northeast Alabama. They and their family moved here a year or so ago from the Great Northwest. Here, they are building a homestead with chickens, goats, piggies, cows, guineas, and horses. It was more or less a therapy sessionđź©· There is much to be said for and gained from living a simple life. You have the ability and authority to choose organic living, clean eating, calm surrounds, clarity of mind and heart. Regardless of what everyone else is trying to push on you, in electing to choose a peaceful life, the quality of your life increases. Do things that enrich your life.
Not everyone has the financial ability to hire someone to clean their home. Not everyone can hire a lawn service or a car detailer. Honestly, there have been times I was so busy it was a struggle to keep up with mine and I wished someone would do it for me. But, I like to be in charge of what of the outside world gets to come in and what of it gets to “stay over there”. And sometimes I don’t know how to do something myself and I have to take Andy Griffith’s advice to Aunt Bea, and “Just hire the man.”
Maybe you have some backyard chickens that you just love. Or perhaps you have turns your passion for gardening into a wonderful business. What about baking your own fresh breads and pastries? Whatever your passion is, pursue it! Teach your kids how to do things that don’t require video games, iPads, cellphones or TV. Ground yourself in something you love.
Embrace a simpler way of life and you will find peace and harmony that you have not experienced in a long time! You don’t have to live up to anyone’s expectations! Read! Learn! Do!
