The Town of Culpeper's Architectural Review Board (ARB) is helping lead an effort to update the Historic District Guidelines, and citizens are invited to review the draft and share feedback at a community meeting planned for 6PM on Monday, 11 May 2026, at the Economic Development Center (803 S. Main Street).
This effort follows a previous community meeting where residents and business owners were invited to share their priorities for the updated guidebook. Comments have been incorporated into an initial draft, which will be now be available for public review and discussion at the 11 May meeting.
These guidelines are an important planning tool and reference for property owners, residents, and businesses in the downtown Historic District. The updated version is being redesigned to be more visual, user-friendly, and easier to navigate, with an improved online format that will help users quickly find the information most relevant to their property, project, or question. The goal is to make the guidelines clearer, consistent, more accessible, and easier to understand for everyone who owns property or conducts business within Culpeperβs Historic District.
I encourage all to attend to learn about the redesign priorities, review the draft, ask questions, and offer feedback.
