A few days ago, we added a bubbling 💦 fountain to our netted chicken yard. It’s been a big hit, but today while cleaning the koi pond filter, we found a couple goldfish in the collection basket. Since goldfish multiply quickly and can over populate a small koi pond, when we catch them, we offer them to the chickens as a moving snack. 🐔🤪

The difference 24 hours of vitamins makes is astonishing. Hyacinth 🪻 was unable to bear any weight yesterday afternoon, but today she’s standing and preening. 🙌🏼

We were out of town for just under two days and when we arrived home, we found one of our young pullets having difficulty moving around. Thanks to another FFA family, we were able to quickly get some vitamins to her. She will be spoiled over the next couple of days and hopefully on the mend in no time. 🪻

I know chickens prefer muddy puddles, but as a koi pond owner, I love a nice water feature!

Any guesses for how long it takes before my kids decide this fountain needs some goldfish for chicken snacks?!
