WPRZ first aired in 1982 on a 1,000 watt AM station that was given to Praise Communications, Inc. Back then, it was one of the first stations solely dedicated to broadcasting Contemporary Christian Music. Though it faced the threat of cancellation several times, WPRZ has been kept alive by God’s will and the perseverance of Sally Buchanan, her husband, Steve, and their dedicated staff and voluntee

rs. Now, almost 40 years later, what began as a pioneering small AM station, now streams to the world and on WPRZ 88.1 FM. Our mission to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost, to nurture and help believers grow in their relationship with God and to strengthen the local church continues as we look forward to growing the reach of WPRZ.
