I knew I wanted to be a musician when I was ten years old. I picked up a bass at a rock summer camp, learned how to make noise with it, and never looked back. Immediately after, I enrolled in any and every extra-curricular musical activity I could, from bands, to orchestras, to choirs, and ensembles. I studied music in and out of school, day in, day out and yet, something was missi

ng. In every class, at each performance, I was playing someone else's music; expressing the ideas of some composer or songwriter that had been conveyed a thousand times before me and probably a thousand more after. There, under the guidance of founder and mentor Matt Wilczynski, I was exposed to other young musicians and songwriters from every background with one great thing in common: our music. I found my voice and a place to express myself, eventually writing, recording, and performing my own music professionally. I'm only one of hundreds whose lives were touched by the innovative, original methods created by Matt at HRA, but I am the first to use my experience as a student for the foundation of my own program, picking up where HRA left off and offering the same opportunity I was given to a new generation of SAVAGE YOUNG ARTISTS.
