This film I did a couple years ago, Redux Redux, is now on Hulu! It is a wild ride and so worth the watch! 🙌🏽

I play a lady that runs a shady motel and it is less than a magical experience for her. ✨🚬

But more importantly, it was a great group to work with and the McManus brothers are such fun directors! What it took for them to bring this film to life was no small feat but worth every little thing for the viewer. 🎥

I was driving through the desert today and what do I see? This billboard. I couldn’t stop to take a picture so I had to find it online. But how cool that this would find me on my path today.

I think Dolly represents so much for so many people. She was just a regular ol human like the rest of us. But she did not waste her time here. She elevated the people around her, she elevated the space she occupied, and she showed us how much good you can do with a wide open heart. I think that was the lesson.

When a bright, wonderful human like her leaves this world, I think a lot of us hold up a mirror to our own decency and purpose. It’s good to check ourselves. I know it’s necessary for me.

Her simple message:
“Find the good in everybody.”

It made me think…

Find the good in your environment.
Find the good in the challenges.
Find the good in your life.
Find the good in each moment.
Find the good in you.

Not just a legendary talent.
But a legendary human.

I will never forget this night and being there as Danny Pino presented Andy Garcia with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Imagen Awards.

It was really something to witness his generosity and constant outpouring of love for everyone in that room. Oh, how I adore and admire this gem of a human…🤍

I have a few more pictures to post and this isn’t the best picture here but what a moment…

It was so humbling to be asked by the team at the Imagen awards to present both the Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress in a Television Drama awards. And also very scary for me, because most presenters were up there in pairs. And it was just me up there for 2 major categories. I wish I could say I feel smooth and confident getting up there but I’m still working on it! I had two of the biggest categories last night and inside, I’m always that actor that’s been hustling for so long thinking, “Really? You guys actually picked me?”

Either way, I’m very grateful and I hope, if I get the opportunity again, that it gets less scary.

This was the moment that I gave the trophy to Michael Peña, Best Supporting Actor for “All Her Fault”. And boy did he earn that.

I dreamed of this…

The 41st Imagen Awards are this Friday in Beverly Hills, same place they have the Golden Globes. And I was asked to present the award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Drama this year—same category I won last year. I’m humbled by the list of nominees.

What makes it even more special is Andy Garcia will be receiving a lifetime achievement award. To think I get to share the same stage as somebody I’ve admired for so many years is like, wow…✨

Thank you so, so much to my friends who came out to support Emilio and Yadi on their beautiful film, “Grit”. There’s so much I wanna say about all of you but this would turn into a novel. In a nutshell, my heart is full because of the people you are and for coming from so far to support.

I don’t remember the exact date when we met but I’ve known Emilio for at least 33/34 years now (which is weird because we’re both still 25). 😄

I get a little emotional thinking of the long road we’ve both been on all these years, the highs, the lows, the losses, the heartbreaks, and the indescribable magic we’ve both experienced in this wild entertainment industry. Although our journeys have been so different from each other, I know we both feel so lucky for all of it.

It’s hard to put into words what’s it’s like to make a friend that long ago and still have the same connection and allegiance. It is no small thing.

What a privilege to support Emilio and Yadi on their film, “Grit”, which is one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. They really killed it.

If you are one of the many, many fans of Emilio, when you hear him say how much he appreciates you, you have no idea the depth of love and gratitude this guy has for everyone and for privilege of being alive.

Saw this film yesterday with friends - supporting my friend Emilio Rivera and his wife Yadi Rivera (who wrote and directed this film). We were ALL blown away and everyone in this packed venue shed tears throughout. What a story!

This film was made with a very small crew and Emilio and Yadi’s savings because it is almost impossible to get funding and studio backing. And the Latino community is probably the least supported in the entertainment industry. This film is the very definition of a passion project.

Emilio and Yadi started Outside the Box Films to produce stories like this, which is just part of their vision. There are so many stories out there that need to be told and seen - stories about the beautiful, diverse world of Latinos.

Latinos are some of the strongest, most interesting people in the world.

They’re light.
They’re dark.
They’re in farms.
They’re leading medical communities.
They’re street smart.
They’re genius scientists.
They’re pop stars.
They’re concert pianists.

They are all those things. We are all those things.

I’m proud to be a Latina and proud that my family occupies every one of these spaces.

I met Danny Glover on the set of Lethal Weapon 3 and he was so kind to me. He talked to me like he knew me and listened like it mattered.

I was just starting out in the entertainment industry and I couldn’t believe someone so huge could be so nice. He makes you feel seen.

I pray the road ahead for him is gentle and paved with love. 🩵
