I shot this on my new Z5 they I really hadn’t used. We used their new Reflex S and strolled around The Mirage in Los Vegas. We’re had less than a minute to shoot and there was usually someone behind,below or right to you.

I left this photo walk really inspired!

I still can’t believe I got the opportunity to photograph an icon | Happy 60TH!
😲📸April 2019 I was selected to be the ONLY photographer to photograph Barack Obama during his 2019 National Diversity Council Speech in 2019. I had to go thru a lot of clearance and security.
🙃Slide 2 I was proud of myself but def had a struggle smile the entire time. I was the definition of overworked
Slide 3-4 In 2008 he was on a campaign tour around central Texas for his first presidency and I was able to see him TWICE in one week. Honestly...for an amateur regular smegular point and shoot ...these are pretty good pics !
📝Obama was on my “ I will photograph you one day” bucket list. I totally didn’t know this opportunity was going to happen the midst of my worst depression. Hands shaking, not confident,10 minute window dropped down to 5 minutes….ohweeeeee. Since I was so sad I felt it showed in my photos so I just never posted them. My favorites shots I got are in my portfolio ( link in bio)

📸☀️It was a bright day and mid afternoon so there were a lot of shadows and light coming thru the studio.
📸I had to use both strobe and natural lighting . I could have closed all the curtains but the sun can be your friend if you know your camera settings.
☀️ The sun was used to light the eyes ,back of the head and full body .
🙌🏾Omar did great with angles . As a fellow photographer he knew when to find the light. Knowing how to direct people is essential to photography as well. Shoutout to my Texas/LA bestie for always being authentic and serving the camera.
👩🏽‍💻Photos are unretouched proofs. I did light edits in Camera Raw . Lightroom and I aren’t friends. I’ve never been a fan of over editing ….I like people to look like themselves 🤷🏾‍♀️❤️

👍🏾💰Groupon has a ton of experiences where you can go to a location with multiple looks and backgrounds and shoot content.
👎🏾What they don’t tell you is the lighting is usually trash and the only way to get a decent pic is if you have a real camera and some form of off camera lighting. iPhone pics weren’t hitting the same .
📸Always have a light. No matter how big, small or cheap …lights can make all the difference . Off camera lighting helps your photos come out extra crispy
The iPhone was on mobile tripod and my arms couldn’t really reach his face lol so he held it out of frame and wallahhhh magic

Remember it’s not about the camera it’s about the shooter. Once you understand light and your camera settings you will be unstoppable.
