More than 12,000 buildings were destroyed by the Los Angeles fires, including religious institutions, libraries, historic landmarks, and masterworks by acclaimed architects. The Eaton Fire alone destroyed over 9,000 structures, including more than 6,000 homes. The landmarks lost were touchstones of Altadena’s character and culture, and many residents have vowed to rebuild.
