Some of the hottest spots in Downtown Manhattan Beach opened their doors on Wednesday, June 3, to ARRIVED™ Los Angeles and members of the hospitality industry for a night of exploration and discovery. The evening kicked off on the rooftop of Esperanza Cocina de la Playa with margaritas and a buffet of Sonoran cuisine samplings. Downtown Manhattan Beach’s Executive Directly, Kelly Stroman, welcomed the group and gave an overview of the night’s festivities. Guests received a Downtown Manhattan Beach tote filled with swag and discount offerings before they embarked on a walking tour. The first stop was a visit to Bo Bridges Gallery, where world-renowned photographer Bo Bridges met the group and shared some stories of his work with sports athletes and celebrities. Next guests were treated to a stop at The Bespoke Bungalow by Chase Kern. Kern’s expertise in custom-made tailoring for men (and women) is a South Bay dream. His private Bespoke Bungalow serves customers who are looking for a made-to-measure custom experience. Next stop was a visit to boutique owner Stella Shirman’s Estell Boutique—a personal styling shop that offers one-of-a-kind selections for women. At Tabula Rasa Essentials proprietor, Maureen McBride, introduced guests to her lifestyle gift shop that’s been in Manhattan Beach for 26 years. Tabula Rasa offers the ultimate shopping experience with personally curated gifts. Next door, Chef David Slay of SLAY Italian Kitchen, offered guests a selection wines and Italian meatballs, pizzas, and bruschetta, while he mingled with the group. The evening culminated at Culture Brewing where General Manager, Kelly Oelschlager offered guests flights of beer and sweet treats were provided by Manhattan Beach Creamery. Downtown Manhattan Beach’s, Kelly Stroman, led a quiz with prizes from David Slay, Love & Salt, Culture Brewing, Coucou, The Strand House, Gum Tree, Tabula Rasa Essentials, Trilogy Spa, Hammitt, Centre Theatre Group, and Maverick Helicopters.

On Tuesday, May 19, the Hammer Museum extended an exclusive invitation to a group of Westside Los Angeles hotel professionals to experience its newest exhibition, "Several Eternities in a Day: Form in the Age of Living Materials." The Museum’s Associate Director of Marketing & Communications, Lisa Davis, along with Chief of Learning, Engagement & Research, Regan Pro, welcomed the group and gave an overview of the Hammer Museum. Guests were then introduced to the Curatorial Assistant of the Exhibition, Dr. Jessi Tillio, who led a tour of the artwork featuring 22 artists from North, Central, and South America that explores the intertwined relationship between living materials and contemporary art. Following the tour, guests were invited to dine at LULU — the Hammer Museum’s acclaimed restaurant by legendary chef and food activist, Alice Waters. LULU’s Director of Operations, Jesse McBride, impressed guests with a menu that started with a choice wine and cocktail list; a beautiful appetizer of wild California king salmon rillette, pickled cucumbers and crostini; a main course of roasted duck breast with tapenade and shaved spring vegetable salad or choice of Chiocciole pasta with asparagus, hot pepper, rosemary and breadcrumbs. Dessert was an almond-brown butter cake.

The Hammer Museum champions the art and artists who challenge us to see the world in a new light, to experience the unexpected, to ignite our imaginations, and inspire change. "Several Eternities in a Day: Form in the Age of Living Materials" is on view at the Hammer Museum through August 23, 2026.

Robata Jinya in Hollywood hosted the Los Angeles Concierge Association on Tuesday, April 28, for a seated experience intended to elevate its members’ understanding of the art of Japanese robatayaki— where food is exquisitely slow-grilled over hot charcoal. The evening began with a cocktail reception and tray passed hors d’oeuvres. Concierges and sponsoring members were then seated for a family-style dining experience that included 16 dishes such as Karaage chicken Nanban, lobster noodles, shrimp toast, Asian beef and shrimp skewers, along with Chachu skewers, sautéed shish*to peppers, eggplant with miso, and an assortment of sushi and nigiri. LACA President, Chamian Coates, along with Vice President, Alejandro Sosa, and Membership Director, Andrew Bennett, recognized and thanked Robata Jinya’s leadership team with an LACA Certificate of Appreciation. Robata Jinya also has a location on West Third Street.
