Texas Regional Radio Report for week ending 7/3/25 has been published. Top spot goes to The Turnpike Troubadours with "Ruby Ann". Find entire chart results at https://www.texasregionalradio.com/Top100.asp

ABOUT TURNPIKE TROUBADOURS:

The Turnpike Troubadours formed in 2005 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, when singer-songwriter Evan Felker and bassist R.C. Edwards joined forces to bring red dirt country to life. They built their reputation playing honky-tonks and backyard shows across eastern Oklahoma and North Texas, eventually launching their own label, Bossier City Records, in 2007.

Their debut record, Bossier City, was released in December 2007—just weeks after the band’s inception—to have something tangible to sell at gigs. Though raw compared to later efforts, it laid the groundwork for the storytelling and authentic musicianship that would define the band.

As they honed their craft, Turnpike Troubadours became fixtures of the Red Dirt scene. Their second album, Diamonds & Gasoline (2010), and third effort, Goodbye Normal Street (2012), earned critical praise for vivid lyrics and a rollicking live show, setting the stage for mainstream success. Blending authenticity with high-energy performances, Turnpike Troubadours revitalized the Red Dirt movement and influenced a wave of Americana acts. Their resilience through personal adversity, DIY spirit, and commitment to storytelling have cemented their place as modern troubadours of the turnpike road.

New video from our friends The Swanging Brothers! (Local) Who can relate? LOL 😉😊

Good morning! Do you want the good news first or the bad news? I'll start with the good news. The AC folks came out yesterday sooner than I expected. Bad news is the broken part won't be in for another 7 - 10 days. Good news, last evening's rain provided a little relief inside the building. Bad news, it's heating up quickly again. Good news - I had a list of excellent guests scheduled for this week. Bad news - I'm going to have to cancel or reschedule most or all of them. So...holler if you have carpentry skills and he-man strength (we also need a new window air conditioner installed in the transmitter room), extra cash and a willingness to help your local radio station. KUSH could sure use some extra love.

What a lineup!

What a lineup!

One of our favorite weeks of the year is here! Woody Guthrie Folk Festival kicks off the evening of the 9th and runs until the 12th.

There's a fantastic lineup with a lot of our favorite local artists included.

If you don't have tickets yet, today is the last day to snag them online!

We'll see you there!
