His little feet are my favorite thing to hold. I know I’ll blink and he’ll be grown before I’m ready for it. So today, I’m just holding on a little longer. 💛

Postpartum taught me what “alone” really feels like. This audio put words to something I lived and never had a name for. I’m still here. 💛

Still working toward the goal. Today it looked like a treadmill warmup and choosing to show up anyway. Discipline over motivation, every time. đź’›

Get ready with me: first day of 8th grade edition.

Yesterday was Danica’s first day back, and getting out the door took longer than planned — mostly because Leo doesn’t usually wake up this early, and toddlers don’t care what day it is.

First-day mornings are always a little hectic no matter how prepared you think you are. With a toddler thrown in, “prepared” isn’t really a real option — his mood can flip in a second, and the whole morning bends around that.

Filmed this to see if this kind of content is something I can actually do consistently — let me know what you think.

Chaotic morning, busy day, but a really great first day back for my girl. Ready for whatever new routine this school year brings.

I keep circling the same question: am I doing enough to actually grow in my faith, or just showing up when it’s convenient?

Some weeks I pray with intention. Other weeks I realize days have passed and I haven’t opened my Bible once. I used to feel shame about that gap. Now I’m learning to see it as something to close gently, not something to punish myself over.

If your faith has felt more like maintenance than growth lately — I don’t think that makes you a failure. I think it makes you human, still in the process, still worth showing up for.

I’m grateful for a God who doesn’t need me perfect to keep meeting me here.

Last week I sat in a church service feeling completely disconnected. This morning, I went somewhere different — a church I’d been to before and genuinely loved, even though it’s further from home.

The second I walked in, I remembered why.

The message was about being built differently — how God commands us not just to believe, but to go out and disciple others. I don’t think it was written for exactly where I am right now. But I needed it anyway.

I needed the reminder that God is with me no matter what, simply because I chose to believe in Him. That His design for my life isn’t hardship for its own sake — it’s using everything I go through to bring other people closer to Him.

The pastor said something that stuck with me: if we isolate ourselves from church, from God, from the Word, we’ll shrivel and lose our connection to Him. But we’ll never lose Him.

That felt like an invitation, not a warning. A nudge to actually get proactive again — with this church, with my faith, with what I’m building for my kids and the people around me.

If you’ve ever felt disconnected from your faith and wondered if it was worth searching for the right place to feel it again — keep looking. I found mine again this morning, and I’m grateful I didn’t stop searching.

Thirty minutes. That’s how long I’ve been sitting in this parking lot, staring at the gym door, not going in.

I don’t even know exactly why today’s hard. Maybe it’s the time of day — I usually go in the mornings, not the evening. Maybe my period’s about to start and my body already knows it before I do. Maybe it’s just one of those days where motivation doesn’t show up no matter how much I need it to.

This is the part nobody posts. Not the workout, not the after-photo — just the fight to open the car door in the first place.

I’m grateful I’m even here, sitting in this lot, still trying. Some days showing up looks like walking straight through the door. Other days it looks like this — thirty minutes of talking myself into it before I move an inch.

If you’ve ever sat in a parking lot fighting yourself just to go inside — I see you. Whatever you decide to do today, I hope you’re gentle with yourself either way.

Most days look exactly like this. Cooking, cleaning, whatever the task — Leo is attached to me in some way. One hip and one hand free to work. Or leaned into the back of my knee, like that’s just where he belongs.

He never needed a binky. Never had a favorite toy or blanket he had to carry everywhere. I’ve always been that for him.

It takes longer to get anything done this way, and it’s teaching me a patience I don’t naturally have. But knowing I’m the place my son feels safest, calmest, most at peace — no matter what I’m doing, no matter how touched-out I feel — is one of the most incredible parts of being his mother.

Think about what gives you that kind of calm. The one thing or person you need near you to actually feel settled. I think that’s close to how God intends for us to be with Him — not performing, not earning it, just needing to be near.

Being a mother again is one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever been given. Even on the days I’d love a little autonomy back, watching my kids stay this attached to me is something I know I’ll carry for the rest of my life.

Nothing has stressed me the way having kids has.

Before them, I didn’t know this kind of fear existed. Fear of failing them. Fear of not protecting them from a world that can be genuinely cruel. Fear I can’t provide the stability they deserve. With my second, that fear didn’t calm down like I expected — it grew.

Some days it feels like it’s engulfing me before I even get out of bed.

And still — somehow, at the exact same time — I’ve never felt this kind of peace. Watching them become who they are, day by day, is the most satisfying thing I’ve ever witnessed. I’ve never loved anything the way I love these two.

I don’t fully understand how both of those things live in me at once. The fear and the contentment. But I’m grateful they do, because it means I care this deeply.

Before kids, I couldn’t picture my life with them. Now I can’t imagine it without them — even on the hard, fearful days.

If you’ve ever felt terrified and completely fulfilled in the same breath as a parent — I don’t think that’s a contradiction. I think that’s just what loving someone this much actually costs, and what it gives back.
