I live in Bethlehem City, Palestine, and I’m very proud to be a Palestinian and looking forward to being in a free, peaceful country. I hope this environment will change to be better in it’s status, whether political, social, or economical. The only way that this will happen is if justice is achieved and we Palestinians are not treated as second hand citizens by the Israeli government. The injusti

ce that the Palestinian people live in makes us worn down from oppression. This is why we demand the occupation to stop imprisoning us with the 30 foot wall built around our community that keeps us from leaving. We call on the world in general that believes in freedom for all races and women and children to have equal rights to help us have the same freedom and rights so that our people can have hope. It helped me positively to develop my skills and my educational side in cultural understanding through the art form. I also read more about history and the civilization of different people groups. Besides that, I’m improving my challenges to make progress inside me and [develop] self-confidence, in the social side to know more movements, to represent the activities of my society, and make more social connections. It’s to be happy and be free and honest in giving my opinions without any restrictions, going any place in my country without checkpoints and obstacles, or seeing the separation wall. Also it means to me to live a stable life, with the people whom I love without threat of violence.

Buildings in rubble, a scene of despair.
But amidst the destruction, a flicker of hope,
A mama cat carries her kitten, won't let it elope.

Out of the wreckage, a mother's embrace,
Love conquers all, in this desperate space.
No time for mourning, survival's the key,
This mama ain't letting go, not even for debris.

Hope walks on four paws, a will to endure,
Even in war's wreckage, life finds a cure.
The spirit of Gaza, in this tender scene,
Love's the weapon, the strongest it's ever been.
