A case with little information available, but I'm still convinced that somewhere out there, this holiday season, someone is wondering whatever happened to their mom, aunt, sister, cousin, grandchild, or friend. She would have been born between 1945- 1955, and likely had a life, a job, a family...but on May 5, 1999 in Newark, New Jersey, her crumpled body was found in a business district near 215 Miller Street. Although her cause of death hasn't been released, it is noted that she had traumatic injuries, and the Prosecutor's Office is also leadIng the case, so I tend to think that it was a hit and run. She was of average height and weight (varies depending on reports), reddish blonde shoulder length hair with gray at the roots, hazel eyes, a diastema between her two front teeth (gap), and she had painted her finger and toenails. On this particular day, this middle aged woman appeared to be wearing dress clothes- light blue pants with a cloth belt, a tuxedo style white long sleeved top, a white long sleeved sweater, a multi designed blue scarf, a beige v-neck type camisole top, pantyhose, a white bra with cloth bags attached to it (?), black dress sandals, and beneath her white underwear was a brown piece of paper with the name "Mrs. Sally L. Smith" written on it. In addition, she had an earring on her left ear with a small purple stone, a black metal colored crucifix, and a Jordache silver watch. She also had an ACE bandage on her left ankle and knee. Are you missing her? Essex County Prosecutor's Office (973)621-4586, #9936910. Dentals and fingerprints are available. ME/C #07990986.
