Wee Statutory District, July 22, 2025 — As Liberia prepares to celebrate its 178th Independence Day on July 26, Representative Alfred H. Flomo has demonstrated strong community engagement through a series of donations and outreach initiatives. Over the weekend, he met with local leaders and community members, making contributions to support various projects across the district in anticipation of the national holiday.
Representative Flomo met with chairladies of Gorblee Administrative District, donating LRD 100,000 to assist with the upcoming celebrations. He also held a gathering with pastors in Gorblee Administrative District, contributing an additional LRD 100,000 to facilitate festivities. The elders of Gorblee District also joined in the efforts, with Rep. Flomo presenting another LRD 100,000 to ensure a memorable event.
Education and community development were also priorities. Rep. Flomo visited Gorblee High School, donating LRD 45,000 to support volunteer teachers. Recognizing the vital role of media and communication, he presented LRD 30,000 to Voice of Wee Radio Station in appreciation of their dedication.
Healthcare support was a significant aspect of his outreach. The volunteer health workers at Compound #3 Clinic received LRD 50,000 to aid their ongoing services. Additionally, Rep. Flomo provided three bundles of zinc for the construction of a palava hut in Bean Camp and four bundles for a school project in Borbor Town.
Religious institutions also benefited from his generosity. He donated 40 ceiling pieces each to the Grace Assembly of God Church and St. Paul Church, as well as 20 pieces to God’s Victorious Army Church in Compound-3, supporting their ongoing building projects.
In a compassionate move, Rep. Flomo visited two bereaved families affected by drug-related tragedies, assuring them of continued support and prompt intervention. This gesture prompted the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) to initiate swift actions, including active operations in Compound-3 to dismantle drug hideouts and ghettos, exemplifying a collective effort toward creating a drug-free community.
These initiatives highlight Rep. Flomo’s commitment to fostering development and resilience within his district as Liberia marks another year of independence.
