The app and website also include real-time information about accidents, road closures and traffic cameras. Many other states have similar apps and websites.

The US National Weather Service Des Moines Iowa has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for Humboldt and neighboring counties that will go into effect on noon Saturday

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON SATURDAY TO MIDNIGHT CST SATURDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 6 inches. Locally higher amounts up to 8 inches.

* WHERE...Portions of north central Iowa.

* WHEN...From noon Saturday to midnight CST Saturday Night.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

- Very cold temperatures are occurring this morning. Wind chills of 15 to 25 below zero are expected early in the day.

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday
-There is an increasing likelihood of accumulating snow Saturday afternoon through Saturday night. It is too early to pinpoint specific amounts, but a few inches are possible and some travel impacts are likely.
