The City of Sioux City Engineering Division announces the start of Stage 3 of the Nebraska Street Water Main Replacement Project from Gordon Dr. to 3rd St. The contractor plans to close the westbound Gordon Dr. to northbound Nebraska St. turning lane on or about August 25, 2025. One lane of traffic will be maintained on Gordon Dr. and Nebraska St. The westbound Gordon Dr. to northbound Nebraska St. turn can be made at the intersection traffic signal during this closure.

Construction will impact vehicles entering downtown Sioux City via Nebraska St. by reducing 3 lanes of traffic down to 1 lane between Gordon Dr. and 3rd St. Business driveway access and sidewalks will be maintained.

Anticipate congestion, especially during peak travel times at the start and end of each workday. Drivers may access downtown using the Floyd Blvd./Viginia St. or Wesley Parkway exits to avoid delays on Nebraska St. Project completion is anticipated to be in October, weather pending.
