Did Genesis really copy the Babylonian creation story?

For more than a century, skeptics have pointed to the Enuma Elish as "proof" that the Bible borrowed its creation account from ancient Mesopotamian mythology.

But is that what the archaeological evidence actually shows?

In my latest episode of Faith Affirming Findings, we travel to the ancient ruins of Nineveh, where archaeologists uncovered the famous Enuma Elish tablets. We'll examine:

🔹 Why critics compare the Enuma Elish to Genesis
🔹 The surprising similarities between the two accounts
🔹 The even more significant differences that are often ignored
🔹 Why Genesis presents a completely unique worldview
🔹 How biblical archaeology actually strengthens confidence in Scripture

The more you understand the historical background, the more remarkable the Genesis account becomes.

I'm currently scheduling Faith-Affirming Findings seminars and would love to bring one to your church. These are half-day events (3–4 sessions) packed with archaeological discoveries that affirm the historicity and reliability of Scripture — let me know if you'd be interested in hosting one. I'm also available for pulpit supply, with messages centered on the historical reliability of Scripture as confirmed by the archaeological record. If that's of interest, send me a private message!

Do we trust the Bible enough to let it speak for itself? Dr. David Dockery explains why faithful Bible reading starts with understanding what the text actually says.

In this clip, Dr. David Dockery explains why understanding Scripture begins with listening to the text itself. While our experiences and perspectives influence how we read the Bible, they should never become the authority over what God's Word actually says.

If we truly believe the Bible is truthful, then we should seek to understand the authors' intended meaning so we can faithfully proclaim that truth to others.

I recently joined InContext with Dr. Michael Easley, former President of Moody Bible Institute, to discuss my book, Faith Affirming Findings: 50 Archaeological Discoveries that Validate the Historicity and Reliability of Scripture.

We explored how seekers and skeptics often question the reliability of the Bible, yet time and again archaeological discoveries affirm the historical accuracy of Scripture and illuminate the world in which it was written.

I invite you to listen to the conversation. It is now available on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcast.

Moses is one of the most influential figures in the entire Bible—but why does his story still matter today?

In this episode of the Bible and Theology Matters Podcast, we explore the extraordinary life of Moses: from a Hebrew baby rescued from death, to a prince in Pharaoh’s palace, to a shepherd in the wilderness, and ultimately God’s chosen deliverer of Israel.

Join us as we discuss:
âś… God's providential hand in Moses' life from birth
âś… The burning bush and God's call to leadership
âś… The Ten Plagues and God's victory over Egypt's false gods
âś… The Passover and the Exodus
âś… The crossing of the Red Sea
âś… The Mosaic Covenant and God's Law
âś… Moses' humility, leadership, and faith
âś… Lessons believers can apply to their lives today

One of the most powerful truths from Moses' story is that God often prepares His servants in seasons of obscurity before using them in extraordinary ways. The shepherd in Midian became the leader who confronted Pharaoh because God's power—not human ability—was the key to the mission.

🎙️ Listen now and discover how Moses' life reveals God's faithfulness, holiness, and redemptive plan that ultimately points us to Jesus Christ.

"Throughout my Bible teaching career, I’ve always wished that there was a single source that would bring together the most significant archaeological findings relevant to biblical studies. It has finally arrived. Faith-Affirming Findings is accurate and accessible, engaging and enjoyable. It reflects an honest engagement with the scholars but is written for the serious student of the Scriptures. I couldn’t recommend this book more highly!" – Mark L. Bailey, Chancellor and Senior Professor of Bible Exposition, Dallas Theological Seminary
