Daniel Gafford has been one of the most efficient scorers in the NBA over the last five seasons. 👀

Among players with at least 2,000 total FGA, Gafford ranks No. 1 in field-goal percentage at 70.0%.

That kind of efficiency is a huge weapon for Dallas, especially with Gafford’s ability to finish around the rim, catch lobs, and make plays as a roll man.

The Mavs have a monster in the frontcourt. 🔥

Kyrie Irving’s situation in Dallas could be one to monitor.

Marc Spears says Masai Ujiri has a very good relationship with Kyrie, and believes that if Kyrie ever decided Dallas “isn’t for me,” the two could work together to find a solution without things getting ugly.

Spears also added that there would likely be interest in Kyrie if he’s as healthy as he currently looks.

Nothing suggests Kyrie has asked out, but the relationship could become important if his situation with the Dallas Mavericks ever changes.

For now, it’s something for Mavs fans to keep an eye on. 👀

Dallas has 11 forwards listed heading into the 2026-27 season:

That’s an unusual amount of forward depth, but there’s a clear theme:

SIZE, LENGTH, and ATHLETICISM.

Dallas is putting a whole lot of wingspan on the floor.

Cooper Flagg refining his game makes calling him a future centerpiece feel like an understatement.

If these offseason strides translate to the hardwood, Dallas fans could be witnessing the rise of a game-altering superstar ready to completely take over the league this upcoming season.

Maybe Zaccharie Risacher doesn't need to become the superstar everyone expected.

Coming out of the draft, he was compared to guys like Michael Porter Jr. and Rashard Lewis because of his size and shooting ability.

And now we might be seeing what his ideal role actually looks like.

In 2025-26, Risacher shot 38.5% from three on open catch-and-shoot attempts, while nearly three-quarters of his shots came as catch-and-shoot opportunities (MavsRoundtable).

Which is not horrible, especially if you now put that skill next to Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving.

Flagg can create. Kyrie can create. Risacher can space the floor and punish defenses for leaving him open.

He doesn't need to become the No. 1 option.

He might be much more valuable as the elite complementary piece who makes life easier for the stars around him.

And if that means becoming a really good version of Michael Porter Jr. or Rashard Lewis?

That could be exactly what Dallas needs.
