🚨 Farmersville ISD has a new face on the school board. Cynthia Craddock-Clark was sworn in to fill Place 7 after Jason McTee stepped down to comply with new legislation. At the same meeting, the district earned a “Superior” rating on its state financial report. 👏📊

Lawmakers have voted to eliminate the STAAR test, replacing it with a new system designed to ease pressure on students, give parents and teachers faster results, and restore classroom time. The shift — the biggest in decades — takes effect in the 2027–28 school year.

Farmersville leaders are weighing tough choices as they work to balance the city budget. Cuts to library hours, staffing and new positions are on the table as the council considers a proposed property tax rate of 71.25 cents per $100 valuation — higher than the current rate but well below the state’s voter-approval cap. Council also rejected all bids for the Chaparral Trail project, opting to rebid with a revised scope.
