Farmersville leaders are weighing tough choices as they work to balance the city budget. Cuts to library hours, staffing and new positions are on the table as the council considers a proposed property tax rate of 71.25 cents per $100 valuation — higher than the current rate but well below the state’s voter-approval cap. Council also rejected all bids for the Chaparral Trail project, opting to rebid with a revised scope.
📅 The public hearing on the tax rate and budget is set for Sept. 15.
