Was I insane to pay $170 for this? YES 😭. But I saw the potential of this vintage MCM Kroehler dresser and couldn’t help myself! Here’s how I did it with the help of Varathane® (which I got at The Home Depot ) AD 👇🏼

+ cleaned and removed the hardware
+ stripped and sanded off the white paint
+ scrubbed every inch with acetone and a wire brush to remove the blonde finish in the grain
+ repaired the chunks of missing veneer
+ applied ‘s Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner
+ applied Varathane’s Premium Fast Dry Spray Stain in the color Dark Walnut
+ stripped paint off the handles and spray painted with Rust-Oleum ‘s Metallic Gold Spray Paint
+ sealed the entire dresser with 3 coats of Varathane’s Oil Based Polyurethane in a clear satin sheen

The transformation of this piece is INSANE. I know the after is still not for everyone, I already know I’m going to get comments it looks “dated”. But I’m just visualizing this piece surrounded by jewel tones, decorated with southwestern pottery! I must be feeling inspired by my New Mexico surroundings these days ✨ so tell me, what do you think?!
