COPD Awareness
What is COPD?
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a progressive lung condition that includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema, making breathing difficult.

Symptoms: Shortness of breath, chronic cough, wheezing, chest tightness, frequent infections.

Causes: Smoking (85-90% of cases), long-term exposure to irritants, genetics (Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency).

Treatment: Bronchodilators, steroids, pulmonary rehab, oxygen therapy.

Key Stats: COPD is the 4th leading cause of death globally, responsible for 3.5 million deaths in 2021.

Insomnia & Sleep Health
What is Insomnia?
A sleep disorder affecting the ability to fall or stay asleep.

Symptoms: Difficulty falling asleep, waking up too early, fatigue, irritability, concentration problems.

Causes: Stress, poor sleep habits, medical conditions.

Tips for Better Sleep: Stick to a schedule, create a bedtime routine, limit screen time, optimize the sleep environment.

Smart Weight Management
Why It Matters: Maintaining a healthy weight reduces the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure.

Key Principles:

Balanced Diet: Whole foods, lean proteins, whole grains, avoiding processed foods.

Portion Control: Eating smaller meals to prevent overeating.

Regular Exercise: 150 minutes of moderate activity per week.

Hydration & Sleep: Drinking enough water and prioritizing sleep to regulate hunger hormones.
