It’s so nice when your hotel has a restaurant that serves celiac safe gluten free meals. I must say, it's a haven for anyone seeking delicious gluten-free options. My experience at Friedman's was nothing short of fantastic.

They had a wide range of gluten-free dishes, and made it easy to identify the options available. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there was a variety of gluten-free choices. Only 2 menu item are not available to be made gluten free and your food comes out clearly marked as gluten free.

Second Recall in Five years for Van’s Gluten-Free Original Waffles.

The recent recall (July 2023) “was caused by the inclusion of a limited number of cartons for Van’s Gluten Free Original Waffles with a pallet of cartons intended for wheat containing products. Immediate steps were taken to prevent recurrence.”

The previous recall (May 2018) occurred “because a limited number of the wrong packaging were used during the production of Van’s Belgian Waffles.”

Question: Were immediate steps taken to prevent a recurrence after the 2018 recall? If so, they didn’t work.

Van’s Foods should provide this community with a detailed explanation regarding how a mix-up like this happened again and what they are doing to prevent a recurrence.
